How do I know how much plaque I’ve got?
...............................................................................................................................................

In this practice, we use a very simple, practical and easy-to-understand PLAQUE COUNT.

By counting the plaque build-up on a number of tooth surfaces, we can obtain a percentage figure – from 0%, which is fantastic and very rare, to 100%, which is also very rare.

The ‘good-enough’ threshold is 30%. This is the average figure - for some it will be higher, for others lower.

By monitoring the same surfaces at every review appointment, we establish your threshold, and you will find that you will be able to keep to it relatively easily . . .

Provided you clean your teeth regularly AND skilfully.
