...............................................................................................................................................

Bill Whateley . . . graduated, BDS (U. Lond), from the Royal Dental Hospital in London in 1971 and joined a large NHS practice in Chichester, West Sussex. In 1973, he and Peggy went to New Zealand where he acted as locum in four very different practices. On returning to England he spent a further two years in Chichester before moving to Torquay in 1980.

He left the NHS in 1988 and, in 1996, he moved to his current practice. He has a special interest in Restorative Dentistry, Orthopaedic/Orthodontics and Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMD).
From 1994 to 1996 and 1997/98, he was Honorary Secretary of the Pankey Association (UK) most of whose members have attended the Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida, and has been a Trustee of the Association since 1996. He is a member of the BDA, the CranioGroup, the International Association for Orthodontics, the BSSCMD, the Cornwall IDP , the Devon IDP and the Devon Study Club (a peer review group). He is also author of 'A Very Special Team' (BDJ Books 1998) and writes occasional articles on teamwork and management topics.

Michelle Harris . . . joined the practice in 1999 from a background in Nursing Care. She is our full-time DSA and is a Registered Dental Nurse (RDN), having gained the National Qualification for Dental Surgery Assistants in 2002. She also holds a certificate in Oral Health Education and Dental Radiography.  She is also an accomplished horsewoman, competing at events around the country.

Emma Bradbury. . .

Emma joined us from a large, multi-surgery practice in 2009. She started dental nursing in 2001, and is a registered dental nurse, gaining the National Qualification in Dental Nursing in 2005. She is a committee member for the Torbay Ladies Rounders League and an enthusiastic player.

Michelle and Emma share duties. As experienced skilled dental nurses, they will be delighted to discuss all aspects of cross-infection control and safety procedures with you, as well as aspects of prescribed treatment and homecare.

Peggy Whateley . . . graduated, BA, in European Studies from the University of East Anglia in 1971. She was with Bill in New Zealand in 1973-75. She has a qualification in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) and the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).

She is conversant in German and French. In 1998, after 25 years of marriage, she and Bill decided they could work together to build the practice.

Peggy is our practice administrator and is with us two days a week. She and Bill married in 1972. They have two children, Pete and Kate. Peggy will be happy to discuss all matters concerning appointments, fees and our Preventive Care Plans with you.
